Welcome!
(Written November 2009)
This web site is dedicated to the family histories of my wife and I. My wife is Irene Hartwell, I am Dave Foster.
I am the web master for the site. Above, you can see our rogues' gallery - photos of us in the middle and our parents either side.
Over on the right are the most common surnames in our two families.
Try clicking on one now, if you want to see a chart for that family.

About this web site
I set up web sites for the Foster and Hartwell families in 2004, but this site you are now visiting has a completely different look,
and lots of new features.
So please let me know what you think of this new site, and send any suggestions you may have for improvement.
There are many new features, including:
♦ a number of easy ways of finding an individual.
♦ For each individual, you can see his details, his ancestry or descendant chart, his family view. And you can print what you see.
♦ There can be many photos of an individual, rather than the one previously. These will be added later!
♦ Certificates and (new) parish records and census images are linked to the relevant individuals. More will be added later.
♦ You can easily set your own bookmarks. These make it even faster for you to return to the pages you want.
♦ There are some nice extras, such as Timelines, Today in the past, Statistics etc.
The best way for you to discover these features is to explore the menu at the top of every page.
There are some items in the menu, eg Histories, Repositories, which I have not yet used, and some which are not yet fully populated.
More material is being added every week. |
Very important: You must register to see living people
We take the privacy of living people very seriously.
If you wish to view information about living individuals, you must be registered in the system.
Furthermore, you must explain your relationship to someone in our database before we will grant you access to these records.
The procedure is explained here.
|
| And finally: Nothing to do with family history! Irene is an artist.
